Star Hill Nostalgia

This Labor Day weekend destination wedding was inspired by the vintage venue, a spectrum of sunset colors, and the bride's love of ribbon. The Bay Area bride and her wedding party designed wonderful reception decor that included fortune cookie favors, paper lanterns, and stacks of lemons accented with sky blue ribbon.

For her bouquets the bride chose a mix coral, pink, pale yellow, peach, and ivory antique roses, spray roses, Swan Island dahlias, sweet pea, ranunculus, and stock. Each bouquet was tied with a cascade of ribbons in the same colors. The bridesmaids, who wore black dresses, each had a different-colored stem wrap to their bouquet.

The ceremony space, with its simple white clapboard walls and sky blue ceiling, was marked with a grapevine wreath decorated with snapdragons and ivory garden roses. An array of candles adorned the simple altar, which was flanked by pillars with tall vases with a band of sky blue ribbon, filled with snapdragons and Italian ruscus.

The reception, which took place in the schoolhouse, featured two floral centerpieces in addition to cake stands with stacked lemons: clusters of white bud vases filled with the same flowers as the bouquets, and low glass float bowls with floating candles, ivory button mums, and fluffy ivory and yellow China mums.

Tropical Whimsy

This wedding took place in the bride and groom's front yard on Lake Austin. To create the ceremony space, they chose two large, dramatic arrangements of tropical flowers, foliage, and reeds. The designs featured horsetail reeds, large tropical leaves, green and purple dendrobium orchids in clear glass vessels on dark brown wicker stands.

The bride carried a striking bouquet of bright green cymbidium orchids, purple vanda orchids, and contrasting black privet berries.

The bride's niece, her only attendant, carried a frothy bouquet of grape purple dendrobiums with purple vanda orchid accents.

The groom wore a purple vanda orchid boutonniere on his natural-colored summer suit, while the mothers of the bride and groom wore simple, elegant corsages of white miniature cymbidium orchids.

The guest book table at the ceremony, flanked by glass urns of cucumber and orange water, featured one of the centerpieces that was transferred to the reception. The flowers were a playful mix of tropicals and textures. Centerpiece arrangements featured green hydrangea, fuji mums, cymbidium orchids, celosia, hanging amaranthus, and beargrass. Accents were provided by purple dendrobium orchids, orange ranunculus, and orange and purple pincushion protea.

The intimate wedding dinner took place at Ronnie's Real Food, and the centerpieces were created in medium and large glass cubes and long, low glass rectangles filled with a multi-textured green blooms with purple and orange accents. The different vessels were intespersed on the dining tables, which were dressed in deep purple linens, and connected with black river rocks accented with chartreuse dendrobium orchids and votive candles.

Summer Textures

This elegant morning wedding took place at the Driskill Hotel. The bride, who wore a vintage-style lace gown, and her maid of honor carried primarily green bouquets, while the brunch tables and guestbook featured arrangements of a variety of ferns in white ceramic and porcelain vessels.

The bouquets were composed of flowers in a variety of textures, including spiky green fuji mums, green and white parrot tulips, miniature chartreuse hydrangea, and white Queen Anne's lace. The bride's bouquet featured a custom wrap with lace from her gown.

The guestbook arrangement contained ming fern, sword fern, and flat fern; miniature chartreuse hydrangea, green button mums, white Queen Anne's lace, and chocolate brown fiddlhead ferns.

Spring Greens

This April bride was married at Twelve Oaks in the Hill Country and chose bright spring greens to compliment the natural setting.

The bride chose a mix of green and ivory for her hand-tied bouquet, which featured chartreuse hydrangea, white ranunculus, white sweet pea, green roses, and green buplerum with a simple white wrap.

The bridesmaids, who wore chartreuse dresses, carried primarily ivory bouquets of hydrangea, sweet pea, ranunculus and vendela roses with green buplerum accents. The bouquets were wrapped with fabric from their gowns. Other wedding flowers included green dendrobium orchids for corsages, boutonnieres, and cake flowers, and white hydrangea to mark the aisle.

Summer Chic

This August bride picked a sophisticated palate of black, white, and chartreuse green. Her bouquet featured ivory hydrangea, creamy vendela roses with crystal accents, and accents of green hypericum berries. The bouquet wrap showcased her grandmother's pearl and rhinestone bracelet.

The bridesmaids carried chartreuse hydrangea, which popped against their simple, elegant black dresses, and the flower girl carried a pomander of apple green button mums accented with pearls.

Rocky Mountain Wedding

This wedding took place against the gorgeous backdrop of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. The couple chose a charming rustic lodge for their reception and didn't let a dramatic summer thunderstorm put a damper on their cozy, intimate celebration.

To compliment the natural environment and light wood of the reception venue, the bride chose simple, wildflower-style arrangements in whites and greens. Flowers were placed in mason jars and displayed on cuts of local aspen wood, and floral centerpieces alternated with ivory pillar candles in clear glass cylinders, also displayed on aspen rounds, and accented with ivory football mums. All arrangements were surrounded by votive candles.

Centerpieces were composed of ivory football mums, white sweet pea, Queen Anne's Lace, daisy-like white asters, sword ferns, and Italian ruscus.

A larger arrangement, featuring the same flowers as the centerpieces with the addition of purple thistle, vendela roses, and ivory snapdragons, was placed next to the cake.

Boutonnieres featured ivory spray roses with rosemary accents, while the groom wore a purple thistle accented with a narrow pewter silk ribbon.

The bride carried a dramatic magenta bouquet of full-blown peonies that popped against her flirty, knee-length silk dress. The bouquet was wrapped in pewter silk to match her pewter heels.

The maid of honor carried a small bouquet of ivory peonies, also wrapped in pewter with pearl pins, while the mothers carried nosegays of mixed creamy vendela and majolika roses and spray roses wrapped in ivory.

Glass Oaks Romance

This May bride requested high-impact head table and cake flowers to fill the dramatic space in the Glass Oaks Ballroom. She and her wedding party carried romantic bouquets of blush and ivory hydrangea, peonies, and roses with custom wraps of pink and ivory voile (bridesmaids) and a custom bridal bouquet wrap including individual lace accents from the bride's dress. The dramatic head table and cake table were the focus of the reception space. The long head table featured three tall arrangements composed of a silk-wrapped base of ivory hydrangea, a cylinder with decorative silver wire and suspended pink roses and white dendobrium orchids topped a layer of floating blush and ivory rose petals finished with a ruffly pomander of ivory carnations. Linking the tall arrangements were two medium cubes of wrapped in ivory ribbon and six small blush-wrapped cubes filled with ivory hydrangea, votive candles, and a thick scattering of pink and white rose petals.

The four tier cake (by Simon Lee bakery) was topped a dense, textured cluster of blush and ivory carnations and was elevated to accommodate a thick, romantic layer of spring flowers. The base featured ivory and pale green hydrangea, ivory vendela roses, blush and ivory carnations, and warm pink stock.

Chef-Inspired Spring Celebration

This fabulous couple was married at the beautiful Red Corral Ranch outside Wimberly on a perfect spring afternoon. The flowers were inspired by the bride and groom's (a chef) creativity, love of food, and the color pink! They requested miniature vegetables throughout their arrangements, and we were able to use all sorts of fresh, fun spring vegetables and herbs to compliment the flowers. For the bride, who wore a white gown with pink accents, we designed a bouquet that featured cabbage-shaped pink ranunculus, creamy Vendela roses, pink and ivory gerbera daisies with chocolate centers, Hill Country lisianthus, white sweet pea, rosemary, mint, thyme, brussel sprouts, and Easter egg radishes. The bouquet was wrapped with a sweet, simple white grosgrain ribbon and pearl pins.

The bridesmaids, who wore bright green dresses, carried nosegays of mixed herbs, pink gerbera daisies with chocolate centers, pink ranunculus, Israeli ruscus, breslia protea, and brussel sprouts wrapped in brown satin with green pins.

Boutonnieres featured whimsical brown fiddlehead ferns, rosemary, bresilia protea, and, for the groom, miniature asparagus. Corsages were an elegant blend of ivory vendela and spray roses with bresilia protea and white grosgrain accents.

For the guestbook table the bride requested an arrangement done inside a large cabbage, nesting on a bed of moss decorated with miniature Chinese eggplant. The cabbage was filled with pink and white roses, white sweet pea, herbs, brussel sprouts, asparagus,miniature purple artichokes, and pink alstromeria.

The ceremony took place under an arch decorated with climbing curly willow, rosemary, pink snapdragons, pink and ivory gerbera daisies, ivory spray roses, Italian ruscus, green and purple miniature cabbages, and ivory and aubergine Chinese eggplant.

The aisle was marked with miniature vases in wrought iron stands filled with hand-tied nosegays of ivory and pink flowers, herbs, and brussel sprouts.

The reception took place in the big red barn and with family-style rectangular tables around the periphery of the room and round tables in the center with sage green and chocolate brown linens. The bride and groom chose three centerpiece options. Tall wrought iron trees featured hanging votive candles, Italian and Israeli ruscus, and miniature vegetables, including carrots, Easter Egg and French radishes, asparagus, purple asparagus, miniature cabbages, and kolrabi.

The second centerpiece option included two wooden boxes filled with a mix of herbs, pink and ivory gerberas, ivory lisianthus, brussel sprouts, bresilia protea, and pink and white veronica.

The third centerpieces were lines of three glass cubes wrapped in green hosta leaves and filled with herbs, purple-tipped kale, ivory vendelas roses, miniature asparagus, and Easter Egg and French radishes.

Cocktail tables were accented with rosemary wrapped cubes with white grosgrain ribbon with a mix of herbs, asparagus, roses, radishes, veronica, and lisianthus.

Bold Purples

This Vista at Seward Hill bride wore a striking white gown with black accents, and she wanted bold purple flowers to compliment her dramatic style. To compliment the decor of the venue, she chose garden-style ceremony and reception flowers with black accents.

Her bouquet featured rich Hill Country lisianthus and purple freesia, and stock complimented by lightly textured sweet pea in varied hues of purple and lavender. To compliment her gown, the bouquet was wrapped in black satin with crystal pin accents.

The bridesmaids' bouquets featured purple lisianthus, stock, and sweet pea with contrasting ivory Vendela roses.

Guests entered the ceremony site through a gazebo flanked with black wrought iron shepherd's hooks decorated with trailing English ivy and ivory hydrangea. The guestbook table was decorated with a large purple and ivory garden arrangement in an antique-style black urn.

The ceremony took place by an outdoor fountain, and the bridal party entered through an arch decorated with a variety of greens and accented with purple flowers. The fountain was flanked by black wrought iron candelabras decorated with trailing English ivy, white hydrangea, purple and white alstromeria, and rich purple lisianthus. After the ceremony the arrangements were moved inside to either side of the cake table.

Dinner took place indoors and the bride chose black linens. Centerpieces alternated between clear glass cylinders with floating votive candles, black river rock accents, and miniature vases with purple and white flowers and low, round vases wrapped with black satin ribbon and filled with a garden-style mix of purple stock and lisianthus, purple and white alstromeria, and creamy Vendela roses.

Vintage Modern

Hill Country Organic

This creative, eco-conscious Portland couple chose a destination wedding at the fantastic Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley. Their flowers were inspired in part by the dramatic color palette of the peacocks that roam the grounds and in part by their love of simple farmer's market chic: locally grown wildflowers, seasonal elements, herbs, and vintage vessels.

The bride's bouquet was a mix of jewel-toned seet pea, ranunculus, and lisianthus accented with botanical protea; scented rosemary, mint, and English lavender; and violet-tinted succulents. The organic cotton yarn wrap complimented her simple cotton gown, and both the wrap and the bouquet were accented with peacock feathers, which she also wore in her hair. The groom wore a simple boutonniere composed of a miniature succulent and English lavender.

The six bridesmaids, who wore navy blue, carried small bouquets in colors and flowers from the bride's bouquet: two amethyst, two ruby, and two fuschia. The bouquets were also accented with peacock feathers to match their earrings.

The outdoor ceremony space was marked with a dramatic phoenix arrangement of curly willow, jewel-toned hydrangea, textured ruby celosia, draped green amaranthus, bold purple delphinium and Hill Country lisianthus, and peacock feather accents.

The couple chose rich blue and teal linens for the reception, which took place in a grove of lit live oak trees. Half of the tables featured wooden boxes filled with an organic mix of moss, herbs, protea, succulents, and parrot tulips.

The other half of the tables featured clusters of vintage-style bottles filled with purple and magenta lisianthus, veronica, alstromeria, sweet pea, protea, and English lavender. They were secured at the last minute with organic cotton yarn to fight the brisk wind that threatened to blow them over.

New Year's Sparkle

The bride chose a sophisticated palette of white with pops of chartreuse and crystal accents. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful deep teal, and the green and white was perfect with their dresses. In honor of the winter theme, the bride asked for white amaryllis to be incorporated into her bouquet and the low, full centerpieces. The remainder of the centerpieces were dramatic cylinders with a modern twist of decorative silver wire and orchid blooms topped with sprays of white dendobrium orchids and sprays of tiny crystals.

Shoreline Chic

This beautiful and down-to-earth bride gave us a few gorgeous images and free rein to be creative. We worked primarily with whites and ivories to create her vision, adding pops of chartreuse along the way. We began with a canvas of some of our romantic favorites: big standard roses, creamy bunches of spray roses, flirty lisianthus, and ruffly stock. We then added some of the luxe flowers for additional depth and texture: dramatic cymbidium orchids, elegant callas, and luxurious peonies.

The ceremony, on the shores of Ladybird Lake, took place under the trellis, which was draped with sheer sage and chocolate linens. The wedding party was surrounded by delicate hanging strands of cream and white roses and white dendrobrium orchids.

The bride carried a beautiful hand-tied mix of vendela and akito roses, white stock, creamy peonies, white calla lilies, white lisianthus, and white cymbidium orchids with pink accented centers. The simple ivory satin wrap with pearl pins complimented her simple, elegant ivory strapless gown.

The bridesmaids, who wore black and ivory dresses, carried a romantic mix of vendela and akito roses, full-blown majolica spray roses, white stock, and white lisianthus. They also featured a simple ivory satin wrap with pearl pins.

The groom selected a simple calla lily boutonniere framed with a dark green leaf for the men in the wedding party. The mothers of the bride and groom wore small clusters of ivory garden and spray roses with an ivory satin accent.

The reception took place in the upstairs dining room of the Shoreline Grill. Three different centerpiece options connected the indoors and the outdoors through the use of ivory and green flowers, and an eclectic mix of vessels, including modern white ceramic bud vases, light wooden boxes, and long, low containers of heavy glass.

These square arrangements featured a lush composition of ivory hydrangea, white lisianthus, vendela and akito roses, spiky star of Bethlehem, white stock, white calla lilies, and bright green cymbidium orchids.

Clusters of bud vases filled with the same flowers decorated some of the other tables.

The longest tables featured the long arrangements, which included all of the same flowers with the addition of white tulips.

We added a few single cymbidium orchids to the whimsical cake; the pink centers of the ivory blooms picked up the pink polka dots on the bottom layer perfectly. The wedding party bouquets and the toss bouquet decorated the cake table after the ceremony.

Blue Hydrangea Wedding

These wedding flowers were inspired by the bride and groom's color scheme of chocolate and light blue. Pops of bright green added contrast to the textured bouquets and arrangements.

The bride's bouquet, which featured pale blue hydrangea, scented white freesia, white lisianthus, ivory vendela roses, and bright green hypericum berries, all wrapped in white satin and accented with pearl pins, complimented her beaded white gown with delicate lace overlay. Her fingertip veil was accented by a floral headpiece of miniature ivory roses and delicate blue tweedia.

The maid of honor carried a bouquet similar to the bride's but smaller in scale and wrapped in chocolate satin ribbon. The bridesmaids' bouquets were composed of pale blue hydrangea and creamy vendela roses.

The church altar was decorated with a tall phoenix arrangement of blue hydrangea, green curly willow, ivory vendela roses, and brilliant blue delphinium. The phoenix featured the chocolate color in the brown river rock and chocolate accents.

The blue fabric on the pews was drawn into the ceremony by the pew decorations, simple and sweet compositions of pale blue hydrangea with ivory rose accents attached with sheer white ribbon.

The reception, which took place at the Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek, also featured the bride and groom's chosen colors and flowers. They chose two centerpiece options to give depth to the open and airy reception space overlooking a grove of live oak trees.

The first was a simple but elegant cube accented with chocolate satin ribbon and filled with fluffy blue hydrangea.

The second option featured three cylinder vases with brown river rocks and floating candles at three different heights. Around the base of the cylinders were three miniature vases filled with pale blue hydrangea.

The guestbook table featured a large glass cube with a chic textured chocolate wrap. The cube overflowed with blue hydrangea, green hypericum, ivory vendelas, white Peruvian lilies, and textured green hanging amaranthus.

The three-tiered square cake, accented with chocolate satin ribbon, was decorated with cascading blue hydrangea.

Fall Wedding

This fall wedding took place on a beautiful day in early November. The bride requested a textured mix of sunset fall colors with berries, wheat, and millet accents.

The bridal bouquet was a cascade of Leonidas and camel roses, which matched the ribbon and bead accents on the bride's gown, various mums, orange queen Peruvian lilies, brown hypericum berries, peachy gerbera daisies, and a spectrum of brown wheat and millet. The bouquet was wrapped in silk ribbon taken from the bride's dress.

The bridesmaids, who wore short chocolate brown dresses with black and topaz accents, carried small bouquets of creamy vendela roses, orange queen Peruvian lily, and brown hypericum. Their bouquets were wrapped with chocolate satin ribbon and pinned with copper pins.

The groom's boutonniere was composed of an ivory calla lily with brown hypericum and wheat accents.

Boutonnieres and corsages featured ivory vendela roses, majolika spray roses, and brown hypericum and chocolate or ivory ribbon accents.

The first pews of the church were decorated with hanging arrangements of fall foliage, orange and gold Peruvian lilies, coppery hypericum, and mums in oranges, golds, and rusts. They complimented the fall leaves, hand-carried by the bride's mother from her hometown in the Pacific Northwest, that accented the aisle.

The altar arrangements were tall, textured compositions of Leonidas and camel roses, orange queen Peruvian lily, autumn-colored mums, brown hypericum berries, brown lotus pods, and rusty millet and wheat.

Ranch Wedding

This beautiful sunset wedding took place at a family ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. The bride's colors were chocolate and pinks, and the ceremony and reception took place outdoors.

The ceremony was held on the front porch, which was adorned with white hanging lanterns spilling pink and white flowers, including Hill Country lisianthus, hydrangea, Peruvian lilies, pale pink and fuschia roses, and porch post arrangements of the same flowers with trailing ivy. The ceremony area was marked by two large phoenix arrangements of curly willow, pale pink larkspur, white hydrangea, and Orlando roses. The entrance to the aisle was marked by jelly jars filled with fluffy white hydrangea. All of the ceremony flowers were able to be transported to the reception area.

The wedding party carried bouquets in a spectrum of pinks and ivories.

The bride carried a large, hand-tied arrangement of ivory hydrangea, cream and pink Peruvian lily, pale pink and bright pink roses, bold pink calla lilies, and light pink sweet pea and Hill Country lisianthus.
Her custom French wrap was accented with shimmery sheer ivory ribbon and crystal pins

The bridesmaids, who wore short chocolate strapless dresses, carried hand-tied bouquets of ivory hydrangea, pale pink and bright pink roses, light pink lisianthus, and white Peruvian lilies. Their bouquets were wrapped with fuschia satin and featured a satin ribbon "collar" fastened with pearl pins.

The junior bridesmaids, who also wore chocolate, carried nosegays of pale pink roses and ranunculus with a sheer light pink French wrap with trailing ribbons and crystal accents.

The groom wore a simple ivory calla lily boutonniere with pink and brown sedum accents. The groomsmen and fathers wore ivory roses with sedum accents.

Corsages for mothers and grandmothers were composed of ivory or pale pink roses with sedum, bouvardia, and ribbon accents.

The reception, which took place under a canopy of live oaks filled with white paper lanterns, featured three different centerpiece options: glass cubes wrapped in pale pink satin ribbon and filled with ivory hydrangea, a mix of pink roses, creamy Peruvian lilies, Italian ruscus, pink and brown sedum, and a mix of pink gerbera daisies; low bowls with floating candles and light pink and bright pink miniature gerbera daisies; and pedestal hurricanes with ivory pillar candles nested on a base of English ivy and Peruvian lily and miniature gerbera accents.

Blue Millet Bouquet

This custom bouquet was created for a client who wanted to incorporate ivory, blue and brown in a non-traditional fall hand-tie. Flowers include vibrant blue hydrangea, creamy ivory Peruvian lily and gerberas with chocolate centers, and whimsical green and brown millet.

Crimson Chic Engagement Party

These gorgeous red arrangements are for an engagement cocktail party. The tall buffet arrangement is composed of curly willow and red gladiolas with a red satin ribbon accent and black river rocks.
